Co-Owner

I started my (now several decades long) career as an assistant during my gap year after high school while applying to art school. After 9/11, I decided to scrap my plans of attending FIT and enrolled in a private beauty school in Syracuse. I have had the privilege of working for, and alongside, many talented people during my career. I went on to become self-employed this past decade, opening a successful booth rental salon, where I met my now business partner, Morgen, and here we are, co-owners of The Ivy!

I am a Goldwell Master colorist, Habit Hand-Tied Extension certified, balayage specialist, Brazilian Blowout certified and a DevaCurl specialist.

I specialize in extensions, balayage and lived-in color looks. Continuing education is very important to me and I attend in-person trainings every quarter and spend countless hours learning online.

When I’m not behind the chair, I’m most likely home working on some project. My friends all joke that I’m Joanna Gaines because I’m always designing, and doing some type of DIY project on my very own 1940’s fixer upper. I also have a passion for plants and gardening, both flower and vegetable. But my real job is being a momma to my sweet girl, Quincy Jean, who is very gregarious and a spitting image of her mama.

Co-Owner

The beginning of my beauty career began right here in Ithaca. After graduating from cosmetology school in 2011, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work under a fantastic team of stylists who gave me the tools and confidence necessary to launch my solo career. Now, many years later, I get to return the favor with my business partner, Amber.

I am a Goldwell Master colorist, educated in the curly girl method, Brazilian Blowout certified, and have recently added fusion and hand-tied extensions to my repertoire. I specialize in bridal styling, balayage, and low maintenance styles.

While I DO believe in making time for self care, I understand that we often get caught up in the hustle of life. One of my biggest passions in the hair world is giving my clients styles that can grow with them and continue to look flawless until the next time they’re in my chair.

Besides being a full time stylist, I am also a full time mom! I have two daughters, June and Jade, who keep me very busy and equally as entertained. I am a creator through and through, and any down time I have is typically spent doing some type of homeschooling or homesteading activity on my little piece of land in the country.

I was introduced to the industry through one of my dear friends and I’ve grown to love it. I love the bond I’ve made with the people I work with, they have become my family. I love knowing that I’m playing a part in making people feel good about themselves. I’m blessed to have this opportunity to be the face of this amazing establishment.

Stylist

I graduated from beauty school in 2018, and have been styling natural hair much, much longer!

My specialties include color + thermal/smoothing services and curly/textured styling.

I enjoy promoting hair health through deep conditioning and smoothing services that enhance the look, feel, and strength of your hair. I also enjoy working with colors and highlights to create a more natural look. I am a native Ithacan, so when I’m not in the salon, I’m usually park-hopping with my son!

I enjoy coloring, cutting and styling hair. I knew I wanted to be a hair stylist when I first had my hair colored purple as a child. I loved being able to express myself and now I love to help others express themselves as well. Whether it’s bringing out your inner blonde or covering the greys to bring out your younger self. I have always loved art and feel hair styling is the perfect way of expressing my creativity.

Stylist

I graduated from OCM BOCES Cosmetology in 2017 after going back to school as an adult student.

I love balayage and lived-in color. I also am always excited to get my hands into some vivids! Making people feel better when they sit in my chair is what I love most about this career. I love to grow and evolve and learn new things. Outside of the salon, my world revolves around my family, and my plants. I can be found exploring the fingerlakes on my days off, and scouting out the best upstate beaches. I also am always ready to get into some continuing education in my downtime!

Stylist

I’m new to Ithaca, originally from Nashville, TN. After graduating and earning my license in Tennessee, I had the honor of apprenticing under the owner of a prestigious boutique salon, where I later worked as a stylist. I take great pride in creating a welcoming environment for everyone in my chair and aim to make each client leave with a newfound badass-ness to take on their day!

I specialize in color work, focusing on blonding services and vivid colors. I also love working with short hair and clipper cuts—whether you’re maintaining your style or making a bold change, I’m your girl!

I am so excited to be the new assistant here at The Ivy! I’ve always had a passion for beauty and hairstyling, and I’m thrilled to be part of such a talented team. My goal is to make your salon experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible—whether that’s helping with shampoos, treatments, or keeping everything running seamlessly behind the scenes. I look forward to learning from the amazing stylists here and building great relationships with our wonderful clients as I finish my licensing exams and prepare to join the team behind the chair!

When I’m not in the salon, I stay busy as the momma of three little girls! I also love working out and taking the family camping whenever we get the chance.
